London to Brighton in four minutes
The UK government has announced today that they plan to build a £30 billion 250mph High Speed Rail (HSR) network. It will start with a fast line to Birmingham, cutting journey times to Britain’s second city to just 30-50 minutes.
Amidst all this brouhaha it seems right to recall that we’ve been here before. The video above, used as an interlude for the BBC, shows far faster speeds being achieved aboard the Brighton Belle on the magnificent electrified Southern Railway back in 1953. This London to Brighton run took only 4 minutes back then, or an average of 810 mph over the 54 mile run.

Viral ad for Michelin
Petrol or Gas stations are perennial favourites in the horror genre. With their combustible mix of fuel and our inherent fear of strangers, the service stop has co-starred in many a film. From the haunting The Vanishing to the brutal Texas Chain Saw Massacre, it seems gasoline stations set our nerves on end.
Here, this viral ad from Michelin, draws upon these fears and brings us a fright-filled fuel stop from hell.

The search for the Ultimate Dad Dancer
