Best Penalty Kick Ever?

Showing that Spain’s World Cup victory was no flash in the pan, here’s one of their young players showing there’s more to come in the future.

In this under 19s match between Spain and Italy, Ezequiel Calvente approached the spot kick as if he was going to use his right foot then ‘switch hit’ to his left foot. The goalkeeper was not best pleased.

Shake Some Noise for the England boys

Viral Ad for Tic Tac – Shake Some Noise for the England Boys

tic tac recruit England Supporters Band to launch search for football’s most loyal fans

This June the world is set to go football crazy and tic tac is challenging the great British public to demonstrate their love for the England team.

tic tac is inviting England supporters to showcase why they deserve the title of ‘England’s most loyal supporter’ and uploading their videos of support to the England team on the interactive website www.shakesomenoise.co.uk which runs throughout the summer’s football campaign.

The more imaginative the entries, the more chances there are to win some great prizes – so fans are being encouraged to give it their best shot and create a unique celebration to the beautiful game. Why not shake a box of tic tac along to a self-composed football anthem, recreate an infamous goal celebration or even recite a personalised poem to a England footballing hero?

The winner, who will be crowned ‘England’s most loyal supporter’, will be chosen at the end of the summer’s footballing celebrations, by the England Supporters Band. They will be judging the films direct from their base in South Africa and the winning supporter will get the chance to record a track with them as well as receive a special platinum disc to commemorate the experience. However it is not just the England Supporters Band doing the judging – visitors to the site can also vote on their favourite video.

Throughout June, prior to each England qualifying game, the three most popular films will be rewarded with great prizes – including a 46” HD ready TV and top-of-the-range reclining chairs ensuring they can watch every forthcoming England match in luxury.

As the Head of the England Supporters Band John Hemmingham comments: “English supporters are some of the most loyal fans on the planet. We are looking for the top fans who can create their own special tribute to the players heading off to South Africa this summer. Just like Capello we will be looking for flair, initiative and above all else passion to ensure we pick a winner who does England proud.”

Ferrero UK Marketing director, Mauro De Felip adds: “This summer the passion of the fans is set to be running at an all-time high. Working with the ultimate supporters, the England Supporters Band, to find England’s most faithful football followers was for tic tac, the perfect way to capture this special moment in time.”

Here are some top tips from tic tac on how to create the perfect supporter’s clip:
• Aim for a video around 90 seconds long – any longer and you may struggle to keep your audience’s attention
• Plan your idea before you start – just like England’s
footballers you will perform best if you have a good strategy
• Be creative – what can you do to make your clip stand out?
• Think about making it humorous – people love to share funny videos with friends and family
• Think about the background to the film – what will viewers be able to see in the background – will it distract them or (ideally) add to their viewing experience
• Make sure any talking or singing is clear – your viewers will get more enjoyment from the film if they can understand you!
• What are you wearing? Make sure you look the part!
• Don’t forget to shake your tic tacs!

tic tac has created a Limited Edition England Supporter tic tac pack, which are in-stores now RRP £1.09.

Lift the (Virtual) FA Cup

If you thought that it was only Chelsea or Everton that were going to get their hands on the FA Cup this week then think again!

FA Cup sponsor E.ON has applied the latest military technology – known as Augmented Reality – to the oldest domestic cup competition in the world. Bringing a modern twist to The FA Cup Final, it is giving potentially millions of fans the chance to see themselves lift the historic trophy!

The technology will be used to ‘transport’ people from sitting in front of their computer screen and into Wembley stadium to lift The FA Cup!

From 25th May people ‘lifting’ The FA Cup will also be able to record themselves within a mini post-match interview introduced by ITV football commentator, Clive Tyldsley. Once the clip has been recorded, fans will be able to send the video of themselves clutching the trophy to family and friends via email.

Phil Boas, Head of Sponsorship and Events at E.ON, adds: “To touch the FA Cup is a dream for millions of people. This technology, while perhaps not quite requiring you to go out and buy the silver polish, will get you a lot closer to the trophy than one team will this Saturday afternoon.”
